Marca: Three New Retailers For The Steering Committee

 Acqua&Sapone, MD, and Sun Supermercati Uniti Nazionali bring to 23 the number of retailers engaging with Marca to grow the private label sector.

 

MarcabyBolognaFiere, the international private label trade show - to be held on 16-17 January next - organized by BolognaFiere in partnership with Italy’s retailer association, ADM, has welcomed new members to its Steering Committee, taking the number to 23. The new entries – Acqua&Sapone, MD and Sun Supermercati Uniti Nazionali – talk to us about their expectations.

 

Says Roberto Marino, Acqua&Sapone Marketing Manager: “Our brand has always focused on innovation, well-targeted communication, and engagement with consumers – well-informed customers seeking quality at affordable prices. Knowing our consumer requirements and purchasing habits, we can meet this request with truly in-depth information. That’s why we believe our brand is a quality reference point for the business community attending MarcabyBolognaFiere. The trade show is an opportunity for retailer brands, also in the Personal and Home Care categories. We aim to gather information and learn from the experience of other sectors in order to trigger internal innovations in our own category management”.

 

Vittorio Amatucci, MD Marketing Manager, puts the accent on ‘cross-fertilization’:

At MarcabyBolognaFiere we intend to ‘cross-fertilize’ and be ‘cross-fertilized’. This is the only strategy possible when you’re competing with the top retailer brands in the large-scale retail market. We firmly believe that the cross-fertilization of ideas gives rise to something new and different – a value added that takes you half way to your goal. This is the place our customers recognize us as occupying; a point that is no longer the old discount format but where quality shopping crosses paths with our affordable prices. This is the point when shopping at MD becomes ‘shopping well’. During the two-day meeting, our MD professionals will be following their best practice strategies while making sure they are compatible with our business philosophy”.

 

The Sun Supermercati Uniti Nazionali consortium has also decided to become a member of the MarcabyBolognaFiere Steering Committee. General Manager, Stefano Rango explains: “We are fully aware that this Committee, made up of the most important retailers in the sector, can really contribute to positive results. We will be doing our bit to help set down the strategic guidelines for Marcaby BolognaFiere and define a meeting and workshop schedule during the trade show. We will also help draft the Annual Private Label Report on the Italian Distribution System, looking at the many national and international trends ongoing in the industry”.

 

Consilia is Sun’s private label. “For us”, continues Rango, “MarcabyBolognaFiere is the sector’s major trade-show in Italy. During the event we will be able to meet with suppliers who already produce for our Consilia brand but also with new players able to produce to our quality standards but also meet the new consumer trends appearing”.
