Of 60,000 “sustainable” products, 15,000 are private labels

IRI research for MarcabyBolognaFiere 2020 on 500,000 Grocery Retail products

 

Coinciding with MarcabyBolognaFiere 2020 (Bologna, 15-16 January) and the presentation of the 16th MARCA Report – promoted by BolognaFiere and ADM, in collaboration with IRI and IPLC – that monitors and analyses the performance of Private Label products, their role and consumers’ perceptions of them as well as encouraging debate about the new challenges the sector faces, IRI has carried out a study of approximately 500,00 products sold in Grocery Retail in the last two years.

Through the study it was possible to identify, from the information communicated on the products’ packaging, more than 60,000 “sustainable products”, including in this category those products that are sustainable for the community, the individual and, obviously, for the Environment. Of this selection, almost 15,000 products were Private Labels.
