Marca 2017 will host the second ADI Packaging Design Award, an honour bestowed on the most innovative products in the Italian packaging sector as part of a project by ADI - Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Industrial Design Association).

The award takes into account not just the material qualities of packaging but also aspects such as aesthetics and the industrial production process - placing innovation and research at the centre of the selection procedure.

On the first day of the exhibition a panel of experts will analyse the exhibited products and select the five that most successfully combine packaging-related aspects with those of innovation and design excellence. Two products will be selected in the food sector along with two in the non-food sector, while one Honourable Mention will be given at the discretion of the judges.

The group of chosen products will make up a shortlist for submission to the ADI Design Index 2017, an annual publication by ADI featuring the best of Italian design put into production.
